Earlier this week I posted the above photo on my Social Media sites.  The response has been phenomenal - over 2,000 likes and hundreds of you commenting and asking for my blog review, so here we go....

Thomson & Scott are already pretty famous for their Skinny Champagne.  I follow them on Twitter, and had had previous conversations with Amanda about the imminent launch of Skinny Prosecco a while back.  When I saw it had been launched I could not wait to try it!  So here it is, I have the bottle in front of me and my glass in hand.

So firstly - the vital stats, why is it Skinny?

Less than 50% of the usual sugar content added in the production process
Organic and suitable for vegans
100% Glera, DOC Prosecco
11% ABV.
67 calories per 100ml

So what does it taste like?

Well it smells delicious, it has that fruity crisp aroma upon opening that smells like a really good quality standard (non Skinny) Prosecco.  The colour is a lovely pale golden straw shade, and the bubbles look very inviting.  The first sip is quite unusual, it's much drier than I expected, but it really does taste good.  I didn't really know what this was going to be like, but I have to say I am impressed.  There is a flavour of apple, and it does have a delicate sweetness in the palate, but not overpowering like some Prosecco.  My second glass went with some light nibbles, and it goes very well with food too.  Overall I like this, and I would drink it again, it is a lot drier than many readily available supermarket Prosecco, but if you find some of them too sweet, this could be the drink for you.

Where can I buy it?

Currently you can buy a case of 6 here - http://www.thomsonandscott.com/#!product-page/cl84u/f5069200-8dcf-6691-c1dc-4a1ea39092bd

Or
you can buy single bottles from the Selfridges website here - http://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/italy-skinny-prosecco-750ml_414-3004657-SKINNYPROSECCO/

The
price tag is a little hefty at £17.99 a bottle, but if you are dieting, reducing sugar, or want to drink a really nice Prosecco, then you should give this a try!
