Whilst driving back from my parents last weekend, we stopped at the garage in their small town in the Midlands to do a quick petrol fill up - and low and behold, there it was, winking at me on the shelf. £9.99 later, and it was in the boot on the journey back home.
Although keen to try it, I left it overnight so it was beautifully chilled, and I saved it for Sunday roast cooking and eating.
Now I think this Prosecco retails lower in the likes of Bargain Booze at £7.99, but obviously varies.
So onto the good stuff..
I Heart Wines come across as a refreshing and straightforward company (no I was not sent freebies, or am being endorsed to say this) - check out the website for yourself and you will see what I mean (www.iheartwines.co.uk).
Basically, they select the best of a selection of wine varieties, and present them in lovely I heart branding.
The write up for the Prosecco states - "True to style bursting with classic acacia flower aromas and delicate apple and peach flavours, this is a light sparkling wine that is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and any celebration. We think you will ♥ it as much as we do!"
I have to agree. This wine increased in flavour once it had been open for half an hour or so - the fruity apple flavours really came to the fore, and the bubbles were not too much. This Prosecco is on the dry side, which I love, and it did go really well with food. We had nibbles of olives whilst cooking, and it went perfectly with roast chicken.
In all honesty, I would recommend this Prosecco (and I do tell you the ones I don't like), and I'm going to order a case from the Tesco website in the near future.
