Prosecco Review - Mionetto

I have been a very lucky Prosecco Watcher recently - and being sent this lovely looking bottle of Prosecco from Copestick Murray is no exception.

The pictured bottle is made by a company called Mionetto.
For 125 years Mionetto in Valdobbiadene has been writing the history of Prosecco, interpreting this outstanding local wine and telling the world about it. Ever since it was founded in 1887, the winery has been considered modern and innovative, due to its ability to anticipate trends whilst maintaining a strong bond with the traditions of its homeland.

On opening, there was a delicious fragrance of lemons and pears, and a light fizz in the glass.  This Prosecco is dry, and very palatable, and went very well with food.  I actually drank a glass whilst cooking, and it's a good aperitif - it really gets your appetite going!  When I buy this again (and I will), it's a Prosecco I will pair with food rather than just for enjoying by itself, as it really enhanced the meal.

This Prosecco house are the brand leader in Italy and the USA but surprisingly had been largely ignored by the key UK retailers.

Copestick Murray has a stated aim to make Mionetto one of the top Prosecco brands in the UK, so it's definitely one to look out for!
